On September 8, 2007, the Town of Westerly, Construction Manager, A/Z Corporation and celebrated the grand opening of the new Police Headquarters in Westerly, Rhode Island. The new Police Headquarters, designed by JCJ Architecture of Hartford, CT, provides members of the Westerly Police with a modern facility necessary to continue their tradition and dedication to providing a safe community for all Westerly residents.

A/Z Corporation is pleased to have been part of this exciting new phase in the history of the Town of Westerly and the Westerly Police Department. A/Z Corporation, based in Ledyard, CT, served as Construction Manager for the Town of Westerly Rhode Island’s new $13 million Police Headquarters Facility; providing the Town with design management, pre-construction, procurement, scheduling and construction administration services. In the summer of 2006, construction began on the new police headquarters. The two story 28,000 square foot facility located at 60 Airport Road was designed to support the current and future police operations, public safety and emergency response programs for the Town. It houses all police operations including patrol, dispatch, investigations, prisoner holding and administration. In addition, the facility will serve as a regional emergency operations center in the event of a disaster. Today, the department is staffed with 50 full time sworn officers, 12 civilian employees and more than 40 part-time officers. The new facility supports this staff offering amenities including staff break areas, a fitness center and locker room.
