Boy Scouts Honor A/Z Corporation

A/Z Corporation was honored to receive the 2017 Community Service Award from the Connecticut Rivers Council Boy Scouts of America.  The award recognizes companies in Southeastern Connecticut that make a significant contribution to the quality of life in the communities they serve.

The award was presented at the Outstanding Leadership Award Dinner at Mohegan Sun Golf Club on May 17, 2017.

A/Z President and CEO Perry Lorenz accepted the award saying “I am constantly inspired by the dedication that our team members and partners have for improving the quality of life for those in need in our communities.  It’s truly moving to see so many people who are willing to give their personal time and resources to help local families.”

Many of A/Z’s employees and their kids have been involved in scouting over the years.

Mohegan Tribal Chairman Kevin Brown was recognized with the Leadership Award and Center for Hospice Care received the Community Organization Award.

Past recipients of the Community Service Award have included Pfizer, Backus Hospital and Chelsea Groton Bank.

In 2016 Southeastern Connecticut’s Boy Scouts programs had more than 2,000 participants who performed 20,000 hours of community service.
