An existing primate vivarium and adjacent laboratory space were renovated within an active, operating R&D facility. This multi-phased project included the renovation of peripheral work space to support the relocation of the existing occupants. The renovated space was converted into a Cardiovascular Laboratory Suite, which contains animal holding rooms, surgery suites, and multifunction laboratory spaces. Additionally, a necropsy suite was constructed and fit-out with all stainless fixtures, plumbing, and ceiling-mounted lighting fixtures. The project involved the complete demolition of the project footprint and the installation of CMU walls, hard drywall ceilings, and floors. MEPs were installed including extensive HVAC systems, building controls,  and an Edstrom animal watering and watchdog system to support animal holding as well as clean gases to support the surgery suite and associated lab space.
