The High Limit Slots Renovation Project encompassed the total rehabilitation of a major slot machine area within Mohegan Sun resort and casino. Although the entire slot parlor was reconstructed, the primary emphasis of the project was the introduction of five major theme elements. Primarily, a 12-foot diameter chandelier was hand crafted and installed in the rotunda ceiling, surrounded by a cast plaster ceiling relief. Teak panels with mother of pearl inlay supported a rotunda soffit laced with a handcrafted glass valance. The perimeter walls enveloped the area with a hand painted forest mural and cast bronze branches that invited the patron to be part of landscape. The parlor is accessed through a weave wall of walnut, cherry, and mother of pearl strips, silhouetted by a brass channel in the shape of a tree. The combined elements supported and accented the major motif of a dogwood forest.
