GOOD CATCH OF THE WEEK

Our culture of "You See It, You Own It" was in effect at the Millinocket ED Expansion in Maine. Two subcontractor TMs found a bucket of spilled nails and screws in the parking lot in the late morning, and they meticulously collected them all over 30 minutes so no one would get a flat tire when leaving for lunch!

Your actions promote A/Z's standards for safety and quality within our team and for all those who work with us!

A DIFFERENT KIND OF GOOD CATCH

After a competitve 24 hours on the water, the results are in! Congrats to Johnny Waz for helping Dave Desjardins land his first-ever striped bass, and to Aaron Piller on a new personal best striped bass!  Big win goes to Mitch Roman with the winning fluke, rare windowpane flounder, and some sea bass, narrowly edging out Matt Gendron in the final hour! Check out the next slide to view the champs!

TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Joshua King

Project Manager

A big congratulations to Joshua King who is now on the Construction Management Industrial Advisory Board in the School of Technology at Central Connecticut State University! Josh will support the organization’s mission for the next three years by guiding student development and contributing to the program's long-term goals and accreditation by the American Council for Construction Education.

What a great opportunity to help shape future generations!

STARCON SAFETY FLASH

While performing lubrication work onsite in Bedford Park, IL, a TM greased a blower coupling in the Dextrose Packing area, standing on the blower's 12" concrete pad. As he stepped off the elevated pad, his right foot landed in a cavitated area on the floor, causing his ankle to roll, resulting in a sprain.

Although the TM performed this routine task many times, the depth of the cavitation was difficult to see and the TM was not focused directly on the floor when stepping down.

• The hazard area is being barricaded to be repaired by the client. • The importance of identifying existing hazards will be discussed on the site. • The site will evaluate methods for improved lighting work areas.
