Affirming Our Self-Perform Structure

A/Z’s self-perform teams continue to grow across New England, and it’s important we maintain clarity and alignment in how we operate.

MA / NH Leadership & Approvals

Chris Sharkey leads self-perform operations in this region with Operations Manager Bob Bradley.

Bob Bradley's Field Service Directors continue growing self-perform operations in MA / NH:

Mechanical: Greg MaffeiElectrical: Chris WilcoxTelecom: JT Smith

Project start-ups, approvals, and direct purchases now route to Chris.

Chris continues to coordinate with Bob Bradley, who will retire at year-end. An internal posting for Bob’s role will be shared soon.

CT / RI  Leadership

Self-perform operations for CT / RI remain under Steve Johnston with our Operations Managers:

CSA: John NovakElectrical: Kurt LaFlammeTelecom: Steve Pryor

Additionally, Dan Driscoll has recently taken on the role of Mechanical Operations Manager.

This structure ensures strong regional focus while aligning resources company-wide.

Alignment Across Our Regions

Our goal remains a unified self-perform organization built on:

Cross-Regional Communication

Sharing updates on clients, resources, and lessons learned.

Consistent Processes

Applying the same standards for safety, manpower, and execution.

Working as one team across all regions.

Collaboration

Looking Ahead

Internal recruitment to fill Bob Bradley’s position as well as Mechanical Director of Field Services (CT/RI).

Updated approval and  communication guidelines to  ensure consistency across teams.

Continued focus on expanding  our reach safely, efficiently,  and with A/Z quality.

Our self-perform structure reinforces how we work:

As one coordinated team, upholding consistent standards across every region.

Small Tools Program Enhancements Coming

As the A/Z Assets team continues its exceptional efforts to keep our project teams supplied with everything we need to do our jobs safely and effectively, we're excited to share upcoming enhancements to their resources and capabilities.

The team has been integrating with Cianbro Equipment & Logistics. CEL is a full equipment and logistics organization within The Cianbro Companies that supplies, maintains, and innovates the fleet and tools that power our projects nationwide.

Tools Program + CEL:

How This Benefits YOU

Access to a significantly expanded inventory of tools and equipment.

Upcoming integration with CEL warehouses across the region: get what you need near where you work.

Increased ability to bill our clients for tool and equipment use—and when we're more profitable, more money goes into your ESOP.

Expanded specialty equipment access — when internal inventory is tied up or a unique need arises, CEL gives you a deeper bench of cranes, material handling, welding, and specialty tools without relying on outside rentals.

Tools Program + CEL:

Your Role in This

As we empower you with expanded resources, we'll also rely on you to plan ahead for project needs.

Moving forward, please communicate tool and equipment needs in advance to toolcrib@a-zcorp.com or by contacting A/Z Equipment Manager, Dwight Davis.

The Assets team will prepare your requested items for pick-up or delivery.

By planning ahead and reaching out in advance (rather than visiting the Ledyard shop with your requests), we'll help our Asset team focus as they transition to the new systems and processes that will drive these enhancements.

Tools Program + CEL

As we make this transition, please reach out to A/Z Asset Manager Mat Schultz with any questions.

And with that, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to our Assets team for making this transition happen and for keeping us running every day with the tools, equipment, and vehicles we need to stay safe and productive.
