LUNCH & LEARN

Regional Superintendents from MA, ME, and NH gathered together in the Marlborough, MA office to discuss key safety and operational topics during a lunch and learn session. The meeting began with introductions and recognition of those who supported and coordinated the event, followed by a safety moment led by Erik Golobic on “Procedural Drift” and its impact on jobsite practices. This discussion transitioned into an overview of crane operations and pick planning procedures.

LUNCH & LEARN

The group also shared real-world experiences from their jobsites, reinforcing the importance of maintaining consistent safety practices. After lunch, attendees participated in a hands-on crane demonstration, reviewing setup, safety features, alarms, operation, and breakdown.

Staying disciplined in following procedures and leveraging shared field experience are critical to maintaining safe and effective crane operations on every jobsite.

GOOD CATCH

At Ricker's Wharf, a TM attempted to move a generator from ground level to the roof using lifting straps attached to the forks of a reach truck. The activity was stopped, and the generator was safely lowered to the ground. A pallet was then placed on the forks, the generator was properly secured to the pallet, and the lift to the roof level was completed safely.
