SAFETY
As we move toward winter, mornings continue to get darker. Preparing with proper lighting, visibility, and awareness helps keep the first 30 minutes of the day as safe as the last. Keep in mind the information on the following slides for morning safety.
SAFETY
Just a few weeks ago, sunrise was around a quarter to six. And in just a few more weeks, it will have already slipped to 6:30.

SAFETY
Dim light hides cords, debris, uneven surfaces, or tools left out overnight.
Morning fog and glare from vehicle lights can distort depth perception.
Safe work areas in full daylight may conceal hazards in the early hours.
When we arrive on-site in the morning, hazards are more difficult to spot before full daylight.
SAFETY
Light up access points, staging areas, and any zone where work begins early.
Hold off on starting work before adequate lighting is in place.
We can take steps to ensure that the start of the day is as safe as possible.
Put on high-visibility gear before stepping out of your vehicle.
SAFETY
Dew makes ladders and decking slick, especially when you can’t see clearly.
Check footing before stepping onto elevated surfaces or ramps.
Wipe down handrails, platforms, and ladder rungs to remove moisture.
As we see fluctuations in day and nighttime temperatures during this time of the year, the accumulation of moisture on surfaces can create a host of hazards.
In the morning, light is dim and conditions can be slick. Taking a few extra minutes to light the way and watch your step helps start the day safely.
