Groundbreaking Held for Twin River Casino Hotel

A ceremonial groundbreaking was held for a 136-room hotel at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I. on May 2. The $25 million project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2018. Representatives from Twin River Management Group, Excell Construction Corp., A/Z Corporation, and JCJ Architecture were joined by local dignitaries at the event.

The new hotel is designed to be connected to the existing Twin River Casino on the site.  The four-story building will provide guests with high-quality, attractive accommodations and amenities that will include a pool, fitness center, spa, valet parking, board rooms, outdoor patio and function space.

Excell Constrution Corp. of East Greenwich, RI is the general contractor for the project and A/Z Corporation is the construction administrator.  The project is expected to create 70 construction jobs and 30 full-time jobs.

A/Z’s expertise in the hospitality industries includes having completed the 400-room Earth Tower at the Mohegan Sun in 2016. A/Z is currently managing construction of the 240,000 square foot convention-exposition center at Mohegan Sun which is scheduled for completion in 2018.
