A/Z executed the multi-phased renovation to Stamford Hospital’s Electrophysiology Bi-Plane Lab, which is home to some of the most innovative diagnostic technologies for abnormal heart rhythms, including equipment allowing for lower radiation exposure and an advanced 3D mapping system for catheter navigation. Much of the work was completed in a sterile area directly beside the hospital’s VIR lab, requiring Class IV Infection Control Classification and the completion of all noise or vibration-producing work during the lab’s off-hours. During this time, the project team worked closely with various vendors to install and bring on board all-new equipment. The lab now houses an innovative biplane fluoroscopy system, which allows X-rays to be taken in the horizontal and vertical planes of the human body simultaneously.
