Construction Management Enhanced Training Program

A/Z has been participating in the educational training for the Construction Management Enhanced Training (COMET) program, which develops specialized learning targeted at careers in the Construction Management (CM) industry. COMET’s focus and mission is cultivating local talent for contractors, as the intent of the program is for CM firms to hire students once they have completed the curriculum and for these students to retain their positions.

Classes began in February, and will conclude in August. This program is completely free to all participants and is offered to residents of New Haven County. Topics of focus have included employability, OSHA 10 and 30, mock interviews, hands-on trades sessions, and estimating. In addition, students were given a tour of Yale’s Baker Hall Renovation Project. A/Z’s own Ted Farnham and Mike Menders taught RFI and Submittal classes. A/Z employees will also be giving lectures on document control and scheduling basics in the coming weeks.
