The Building 5 Expansion was a 60,000 sf cGMP, DEA-validated addition to an operating chemical production facility, which is used for drug and research development. The scope included 18-foot tall reinforced concrete walls poured deck-to-deck for four stories; complex forming around beams and openings with multiple embeds at various elevations; and the critical layout of walls, doors, and tank openings. A/Z provided specialty construction services for this initiative, working through rough winter conditions to maintain a demanding and tight schedule with teams working 12 hour days, 6 days a week.
