A/Z oversaw the renovation of the Founders Hall Allied Health and Nursing facility at Naugatuck Community College. Founders Hall and an adjacent annex building were constructed in the 1960s. The project team was responsible for executing a complete renovation of 85,000 sf of facilities, which included the the demolition of an existing one-story wing on the south side and the construction of a new three-story addition of approximately 26,000 sf in its place.

The renovations have created a state-of-the-art teaching and training facility aimed at addressing the state’s critical shortage of qualified nurses and promoting other healthcare-based career opportunities. The renovated building features general purpose classrooms featuring technology based teaching systems along with large well-equipped laboratories with resources for simulated learning that can be used by all disciplines, a mixture of large and small classrooms, conference rooms, gathering spaces for group study, and faculty offices that provide for tutoring and advising.
