The University of Connecticut engaged A/Z to support telecommunications upgrades at its Storrs, CT campus. A/Z’s team was responsible for performing the complete installation and documentation of a voice/data/CATV cable plant and active network components for the Greek community campus. The campus consists of a 9-building, 400-bed residential housing complex complete with a community center. Cisco Catalyst 2950 edge switches and Catalyst 4006 aggregating switches were furnished, installed, and tested as part of the installation. Fiber optic transmitters and receivers as well as video masking interdiction units were furnished and installed by A/Z to extend the university-owned SMATV system for distribution to the apartments and suites in the project. Close coordination with university IT Services and Facilities departments were critical so the facility would be available for student move-in for the fall semester.
